The Power of Persuasion!
Last Term Room 3 wrote to Mrs Frances-Rees in an attempt to persuade her to fix up the patchy grass over by the Cameron Street side of the school property.
As it happens, the grass was due for a bit of attention in the last holidays. When we returned this term we found that the ground had been scoured and grass had been resown!
The published writing can be read in our classroom Library corner. Well done to all the students for applying their great ideas and writing skills!

Fire Truck
When a heater in Room 10 exploded earlier this term the fire brigade were called. The incident was quickly sorted- but not before Mrs McCallum could take Room 3 out to look at the Fire Engine and talk to the Firemen...

Epals
Hi everyone,
I have emailed the children the email addresses for their epals today.
If they log in to the epals website (http://www.epals.com/) they will see the email from me in their inbox. They will then be able to email their epals.
The Epals are from a Year 3 class at Newman Catholic School in Mason City, Iowa, in the United States.
Happy emailing!

Welcome to our new blog!
Hi everyone,
Welcome to the new Room 3 Blog!
I am hoping to use this to keep parents informed about events in our class and for the children to access material at both home and school.
If you click on the link to follow by email, you will receive every posting I make by email. Hopefully this will help with keeping people informed about what is happening at school, especially in Room 3.
Over time I will add all sorts of things to the blog- I hope that it becomes a real resource for the children.

Mr Paterson arrives

My family and I are happily settled into Ashburton and St Joseph's school. By now, most parents have made themselves known to me. You are all most welcome to say hi- you know where I am.
This blog will be a place for communicating with parents and to share some of the work that we do at school.
The children will hopefully be able to use it to find useful links to websites that will support learning both in class and at home.
I hope that you will find it useful and informative- any feedback from parents is welcome.
